Hand Signals &

Group Riding

HAND SIGNALS  WHILE ON A RIDE with Chico Ca. HOG Chapter       

Having FUN  and riding SAFE  is our main goal. Here is a few hand signals we use when the Chico HOG Chapter is on the road riding.    

Start Engines: Signal from Lead Road Captain, right arm extended & index finger pointed, move arm in circular motion 
 Left Turn:  Left arm fully extended horizontally
 Right Turn: Left arm extended horizontally with elbow bent 90 degrees
 Stop: Left arm extended on a 45-degree with the palm of the hand facing backward
 

Slow Down : Left arm extended on a 45-degree angle with palm of hand facing down while moving it up and down

 

 Speed Up: Raised left arm extending up and down indicating speed up
Hazard on Right: Right arm extended on a 45-degree angle, index finger pointing towards hazard or your right leg extended out can also be used 
  Hazard on Left: Left arm extended on a 45-degree angle, index finger pointing towards hazard or your left leg extended out can also be used
 Single File: Left hand positioned over the helmet with the index finger pointing upward
 Double file : Left arm extended upward with index and pinkie finger fully extended
 Tighten up formation: left arm extended upward while moving up and down repeatedly in a "pulling motion "
